About the Directors
Jim and Roberta Richmond Jim and Roberta Richmond: Jim and Roberta make a perfect team at Camp Dovewood. Jim, the camp engineer, ensures that everything runs smoothly and Roberta directs the camp activities. They both love working with young people, working with each other, and being totally involved in this Jesus-filled ministry. Both Jim and Roberta are ordained ministers. Roberta Richmond: BSED from the University of Georgia, Master's Degree in The Art of Teaching from Emory University. Roberta has taught 25 years in both public and private schools. She was the 1994-95 District Teacher of the Year for Suwannee County. Roberta is also a National Board Certified Teacher.Roberta has taught ballet in Atlanta, GA and horseback riding in Florida. She has shown Hunt Seat, Western and English Pleasure as well as Saddle Seat Equitation throughout the Southeast. Roberta seems to have an unlimited amount of energy, enthusiasm and love for life. Roberta is currently the Suwannee County gifted teacher teaching students in grades 1-12. When asked how she was so effective as a teacher, mother, director and wife, Roberta replied, "I give God the glory for my success. He is my director." Jim Richmond: I.E. Graduate from Georgia Tech and MBA from Georgia State University. Engineering is a God-given talent of Jim's. When camp is not in session, Jim teaches math to seventh graders. He is always on call by campers and counselors because he can fix anything and do anything.
